1. When the going gets tough – what happens to collaboration?
I’ve written before about collaboration. It’s well documented that collaboration works. More is always achieved through the cohesive combination of numerous people’s efforts than through a solo approach. However, there are times when it is difficult to collaborate.
2. The time-lag between effort and reward.
Recently I was trying to find where it was first said that after 10 years somebody was an overnight success (or words to that effect). There’s a lot of truth packed into that short phrase. 1. Have a Mentor in 2013
No matter how hard you try you can't know everything about everything! It applies to us all - we don't know what we don't know. That's why in 2013 we would recommend you have a trusted mentor. This does not have to be a formal relationship, nor do I belief you have to go to the same person each time. You may have a few people with different areas of expertise. You can then pick the appropriate mentor for each occasion.
2. It's the 7th of January!
The 12th day of Christmas was on the 5th of January! It's the first work day since Christmas is truly over. If you haven't started those new years' resolutions yet - today is the day! If you have started them - well done and keep it going!
